Leather Beds – Comfort and Elegance

By: Tonia Jenkins

Nothing quite compares to the look and feel of a genuine leather bed. Imagine being able to sleep in the warm embrace of a supple leather bed instead of your outdated bedspring monstrosity. Not only will it look stylish, but it will age well. Unlike most textures, leather improves as it matures. As it becomes more worn, it moulds to your body like a glove. Compare a leather bed to an especially comfortable pair of shoes, both supporting and protecting your precious body. There is no doubt that you will wake up revived, refreshed, and ready to face whatever the day is planning to throw at you.

Leather is fabulous. It almost becomes an extension of your body the more you employ it. You will marvel at how this material will conform to your body type. It’s like it senses your body temperature and regulates itself to provide ultimate comfort. Not only this, but leather is surprisingly resilient. There is no need to fear a sudden tear or break, quality leather doesn’t lend itself to such flaws.

As for style, a leather bed frame will transform your room into a warm and welcoming refuge, of which you will never get tired of. It provides a sense of finesse and maturity. Leather has always had the connotation of sophistication. Your friends and family will remark at the innate grandeur it will radiate throughout the room. Luckily however all of this finery does not come at the cost of functionality. The fact is leather is outright quick and easy to clean. A simple damp cloth is adequate enough to keep your investment looking as immaculate and dazzling as the day you first bought it.

Of course, there are many different subtypes of leather, so you will want to pick the best match for your needs. For example, leather is sometimes treated with aniline to provide a pliable and supple feel and texture. This treatment will increase comfort, but decrease durability. So if for example, you plan to have your bed in direct sunlight, or feel you make put extensive wear and tear into the frame itself, you may want to buy either an aniline mix, or nubuck leather (if you like the look of suede leather.) If your budget doesn’t permit the purchase of such materials, you could always invest in faux leather. Faux leather provides the majority of the benefits of real leather but at half the cost.

Should you purchase a leather bed frame you will never regret the purchase. The simple elegance and comfort it will provide will keep it lasting appeal. Leather bed frames come in every size, from single, to king-sized, so they are definitely not lacking in variety. Just remember to shop wisely by never spending more than you can afford. However there is so much choice you will still find the bed of your dreams. So in no time, you will be decorating your room with other leather furnishings. No other material can match the timeless beauty of leather.
