Pools and trees are twin fixtures in every yard or property. The trees provide the natural beauty of the environment to the area and serve as sunscreen for the bathers during hot summer. They could also provide security if properly distributed around the property and could as well dabble as fence for the property. Big trees can likewise provide privacy to the pool owners especially when at full grown and massively planted.
However, not all plants are good company for swimming pools. There are trees with small leaves that are added work to the pool cleaners and eats up a considerable amount of their time to take off unwanted leaves falling on the pool. A day without taking out of the leaves off the pool is an unsightly scene that makes the pool messy and unclean. Imagine the cost of maintenance just to clean the pool and its surroundings of these unwanted leaves.
Pools are frequented most of the time by people where insects like bees and other similar biting insects are a mess in a place like swimming pools. The growing of fruit bearing trees near swimming pools must be avoided since these fruit bearing trees are good attractions to bees and other insects. It would be devastating if a swarm of bees with stinging bites invade a pool filled with swimmers in the height of fun and games. Likewise, while the planting of some shady trees with broad leaves is encouraged near swimming pools, tree with far reaching root system and invasive can damage your pools in the long run. It is best judgment to study and do some research about trees and big plants before embarking on a planting spree that would only cause you headache in the future on your pool. Make sure that every tree you plant today around your pool area would give you much benefit rather than disadvantages.
There must be a blueprint of the landscaping area and the plan must be specific on the kind and type of plants that would be incorporated in your yard around the pool. Even flowering plants must be screened as to their vulnerability to insects’ attraction since your swimming pool must be free from insects at all times if feasible. Color combination and height of plants must also be taken into consideration before a landscaping plan is finalized.
In addition to the landscaping of the pool area, a closed gazebo not too far from the swimming pool is a good sanctuary as a sunscreen for bathers. It could also serve as a change area and relaxation venue that would add convenience to the visitors and users of the swimming pool. Some simple furniture would be great if your budget will allow it to complete the functionality of your swimming pool.
Finally, all these plans would not take off without budget approval. It would be best to count your bullets before going to war so to speak. Start counting the cost once you are done with your planning to finally determine the cost of your landscaping dream around your pool.
